African Spiral is a South African ‘owner-managed’ company, founded by Nicki Delmulle.
Her passion for Southern Africa comes through in all her itineraries as well as her personal desire to make sure that each client goes home
in awe of our beautiful country,
its people and culture and
with a deep seated desire to return again to experience more.
After completing her studies at the University of Cape Town where she qualified with a B.Soc Science degree in 1989 the dream to travel became a reality. After spending 5 years travelling in Europe she came back to South Africa to implement her knowledge in the travel industry.
Nicola is a people person and these interpersonal skills were fine tuned and developed by her rise through the ranks of Thompson’s Travel where she ultimately became the Head of the Africa Department co-ordinating and developing itineraries for the increasing travel market.
This position at Thompson’s Travel gave her the opportunity to travel extensively in Southern Africa as well as enhancing her already vast knowledge of this area.
Nicki then spent a year lecturing to the travel industry on South and Southern Africa as a tourist destination.
Her passion for dealing more with end user attracted her back to the retail industry where she then went on to become the Manager of the Operating Division of the Sure Travel Group, one of South Africa’s largest group of travel agents. She did all the product development and contracting within Southern Africa and personally chooses all the properties she deals with ensuring quality accommodation and service.
Nicki’s phiolosophy and emphatic belief (which has become the basis to the service she provides) is that each property should offer an experience, not just a bed, and searches for this personal quality in all establishments she deals with.
